Laboratory testing and results
This evolutionary approach to Bainitic Transformation has been under development for years. The results have been verified by dozens of metallurgists and PHDs from four different A2LA certified laboratories and numerous academic institutions. HP White has performed ballistic testing.
"Flash Processing" has been proven to create up to a bainitic microstructure in every single one of the dozens of low carbon alloys tested. Carbon content has ranged from 0.04% to 0.30%wt. Other alloying elements are greatly varied in each composition, ranging from 92.0%wt to 99.4%wt Fe, and have little impact on transformation.
Tensile testing of 1.5mm thick Flash Processed sheet has resulted in tensile strengths in excess of 246KSI with elongation of 7.3% from AISI 8620 steel.
Tensile testing of 3.2mm thick Flash Processed sheet has resulted in tensile strengths in excess of 230KSI with elongation of 8.7% from AISI1020 steel.
Tensile testing of 8.5mm thick Flash Processed plate stock has resulted in tensile strengths in excess of 263KSI with elongation of 9.0% from AISI 4130 steel
Tensile testing of 3.2mm thick Flash Processed sheet has resulted in tensile strengths in excess of 275KSI with elongation of 7.8% from AISI 4130 steel. A simple 10 minute tempering at 220C increases elongation to 9.0%.
